About Me (Deep Dive)

Hello and welcome to the Scriblotta official "About Me" page!
I am an aspiring novelist and comic book writer who resides in the ever so beautifully rainy Britain. I have been writing ever since I was eight years old so my debut novel/comic has to be due any day now... hopefully... maybe...
All joking aside, I absolutely love the art of storytelling, world-building and sweet escapism. I am hoping for all my future books and comics to tick those three boxes.
Funnily enough I wasn't really much of a bookworm in my junior years, perhaps because of my dyslexia, so most of my inspiration comes from (and still does) films and TV shows. It wasn't until I was about fourteen I started delving into books. (We have William Golding and his Lord of the Files to thank for that).
Then when I was nineteen and slightly hungover at a friend's house I was introduced to Blue Exorcist and as fans of the anime series know - we had to wait six years before we got a second season of the show but I needed more Blue Exorcist content leading to me purchasing my first ever manga! After that it was only a hop, skip and jump into adding comics and graphic novels to the roster.
My non-reading/writing hobbies include creating mixed media artwork, binging a LOT of PetTube, RPG, watching anime and playing board games. I think that rounds things off nicely. Hope you enjoyed learning a bit more about me. Have a nice day!
Q&A
What author(s) or works inspired you to write? This may be slightly controversial... but I don't get inspired by books or other writers *gasp* However, I have very fond memories of school trips to Cheltenham Literature Festival where they would invite guest speakers. The three authors I remember feeling inspired by were Michael Morpurgo, Malorie Blackman & Caroline Lawrence.
Will you use your real name or a pen name? Scriblotta is my pen name & will be the name I publish under for the foreseeable future.
What is your writing routine? Thanks to my author friend, Zsaffryn Terra, I discovered the 5am Writers Club. So three days a week I wake up at 5am - 6am to focus on my WIP before getting ready for the day job.
How you became inspired to write/what you’ve written? My main source of inspiration predominately comes from films & TV shows. My inspiration for Yellow Apple came from Pan's Labyrinth & Frozen.
What is a book or author similar in style to your writing? This question honestly stumped me because off the top of my head I don't know any writer who writes like me. But I'm not so delusional to believe my style is that unique. So when I figure it out I will let you know.
